The Masquerade is Not Over

My image could have been one  among these women, but I called on Jesus and He was on time!

It was 2005, I had just graduated with a Master's Degree and bought my first home in Decatur where it's greater. My career was just beginning, and everything was brand new since I moved across the country- away from my hometown and family. Traveling and exploring is one of my passions, so getting to know this town was quite a fascinating experience. Meeting new people was a daily occurrence and especially on the weekends since "Old Atlanta" was still a thing and we enjoyed every bit of it. The dating scene has always been a bit sketchy, but I thought I was okay since I have a good record of making good decisions and was being a smart adult at the age of 27. But the issue is, do you really know someone? Do you truly know the person you are intimate with? Do you really know the people you call friends?

Twenty years later, I can finally answer this question and the answer is no. I don't truly know who these people really are because they are always "masquerading". Now, as a women, I can see right through other women's facade, but with men, it's a ordeal that needs meticulous study and analyzation. I have my guides, and spiritually I am always right when it comes down to assessing a situation for what it is. I also understand how drugs and alcohol play a pivotal role in the mental state of anyone. The world is truly against us all, so staying on the straight and narrow is challenging, and especially when a person doesn't understand that they need help.

We must also understand the Jekyll and Hyde Personality. This is what I faced and thankfully survived. Since he was standing in my home- the place that had my name on the deed, after assaulting me I stayed my usual calm self when I gave him an ultimatum. It only took him a minute to decide if I was capable. Luckily for him he didn't have to find out. When the woman arrived to take the statement, she looked at me and said "my sister didn't make it, so I suggest you get your shit together". AND, that's exactly what I did. But, I have found that we are literally at war with our own men. I am a women of few words and I've always done my own thing with friends or with no friends, I really don't care since most people are horrible towards me, and its so odd. This also goes for relationships. Luckily, I live in a place where there are little to no eligible men to marry, and this has allowed me to grow myself beyond measure so when God does send my husband, I will be more than prepared to live and maintain the beautiful life he has shown me. Being faithful, fruitful, and abstinent gets you a literal peek into your future.

Femicide needs to stop!

My first experience with this was on social media when I watched a young Mexican girl shot to death on her own Live Stream in real time!

The first sign is "stalking", and its not cute, its a CRIME!  As women, when we report things, they may not follow through on it, so we have to be creative when it comes to protecting ourselves. Hiring a Private Investigator is my go-to, so when you go in front of a Judge in their hometown with your evidence, they will take it seriously.
